'Striated Pardlote'

This little guy has been gathering food for his babies who have made a nest to bring up the family in our house eaves. With me standing between the hole in the eaves and this bird, he / she was keen to keep an eye on me so it could make a move to get the food back to it's babies as soon as I moved out of the way. It did give me quite a good chance to take some shots first though. These are really tiny little birds and it's difficult to get an idea of it's size from this shot, but the branch it's perched on is no more than 5mm diameter to give you an idea of scale. You could quite easily hold this little one in the palm of your hand.

There have been lots of different birds around today, also took some good images of a kookaburra in the backyard too, a tough choice as to which to blip today. This was one of the others I was tossing up for.

Weather is still pretty cold and grey here and we've put on the heater again tonight, although we haven't had any rain today which has made a nice change.

Enjoy your weekends all.
