Old Friends

Day 2 of the reunion. Weather the pits and a leisure day to do what ever.
We had quite a big night a big night last night.....Nuff said!!!

Slow start this morning then headed up to our old stomping grounds, The Hermitage , Mt Cook. Absolutely persisting down, not a mountain to be seen, so after enjoying a 90 minute doco on the life of Sir Edmond Hillary ( which I must say was totally awesome) we headed into the bar for what originally was to be a coffee.
Aha but no!!! Sheryl and I decided this was a good time to remember the Black Russian (vodka and Kaluha, no coke) drinks that we used to enjoy so much 40 years previous. The price, well let's just say they have moved the decimal place a little. However, delicious :)

It's now almost midnight, we have had a great get together at the local pub, catching up on all and sundry (and others). Tomorrow, we do the photo's along the Mt Cook Rd, (weather forecast abysmal) , will stop off at where The Rest used to be, now under water. The Rest was a Ministry of Works Camp where we lived for two and a half years while the new road was constructed. Brilliant times we had, love the back country and the people we loved and worked with.
