The Guys in the White Hats

Just like last Saturday, I went doorbelling for Whatcom County Council candidates this morning. This time, my partner was David Stalheim — co-owner of a very interesting blog, Get Whatcom Planning. It’s about managing growth and other land use planning issues — a hot topic locally.

Our assigned area was in the (steep) hilly part of Fairhaven. Houses on the side of the streets facing the water were at street level, but we had to climb a lot of steps on the opposite side. After three hours, I felt just as tired as if I’d been playing pickleball.

I’ll be glad when this election is over.
