One daze at a time...

Mimi. A two and a half year old princess is not supposed to still suck on a dodo.
Princesses are not meant to have an aging chewed rubber breath first thing in the morning.

Not sure if Luca's sleep was as deep as yours last night. It has not been great for the last while, as we approach the date of his birthday. It is heart-warming to see what a tremendous event it is in a young child's life. I know that the long wait has been excruciating, since about 15 minutes after the last Christmas present was open and he asked "when is my birthday?" Since about 20 minutes after the last Easter eggs was swallowed and he asked "what month is this, my birthday is September".
The month of August has lasted 31 long centuries, with no school routine, no summery weather worth the name, no swimming classes, just incredibly long days spent wondering when August would finally end and make the way for September, the Birthday Month!
We do live in parallel universes, with different time/space/gender/social continuums (continui?).
Time has flown for me since last Christmas (must be one of the side-effects of sleep deprivation...)
I read from a true philosopher here on blip the ultimate explanation to that speeding of time as you grow older (I'm really sorry not to be able to remember who that was - definitely a side effect of sleep deprivation - to give her/him full credit...):
When you are 6 year old, the passing of a year represents a sixth of your life, when you are sixty is represents a mere sixtieth...

Day 4 without internet access: we are bracing ourselves for a full weekend of joyful conversations, board games, art and craft activities, gourmet cooking and listening to quality music. I am totally dreading this...

[Edited at 1.40pm: the Eircom guy called round, improbable as it may sound. As incredible as this may sound, he located the fault. He actually fixed it, miraculously enough. Against all odds I shall be back online over the weekend. The threat of some quality family life has been lifted!]
