Sunset and the West Wind

Although the photo is taken looking to the north-west, we love the west wind we've got at the moment as it brings cooler air and a freshness. It also hits our two wind turbines without any interruption and is good for electricity generation.

Living like this, with no mains services, makes us very conscious of our usage of water, gas and electricity. We never leave electrical appliances on when they're not being used, the hot water boiler is off when it's not needed, the toilet not flushed unless necessary (!) and in the summer all washing-up and shower water is put on the garden. It's a very economical way to live.
