Size Is Everything!

It's not obvious from this photograph just how small some of this morning's mud-encrusted crop is, so I'll explain.

The peppers and chillis are about the size that they should be, and the figs too are about average for around here.

I severed the melon this morning by mistake, which is a shame because it's only six inches long, but it's going to be part of the vegetable kebabs when friends come tonight so that it doesn't go to waste.

That gives you an idea of the size of the two cabbages, which have been growing for almost a year and are not much bigger than this years seedlings! Last night we ate another two cabbages for dinner, one each, but these two are going to become coleslaw, although strictly speaking they're the wrong sort of cabbage but they work fine.

The joys of growing your own!
