BCAM - Pink Challenge Day 29

Set off today early to go visit my dear friend Merrilee in hospital. Her life was totally turned upside down last Friday morning when she was headed to the ferry pier where she lives on another part of Lantau. A dog bolted in front of her bike and she hit it and fell of her bike and landed on the pavement and shattered her shin bone and dislocated her knee! The pain was indescribable, she said. She had 4 hour surgery on Saturday afternoon and now will be in a cast for at least two weeks. The doctor said that it was one of the worst injuries he'd seen. Talk about a split second changing your life. Grateful that her damage wasn't worse, she was in excellent spirits.

Then Eileen and I headed to Central to a camera shop where Eileen purchased a new lens after expert guidance from GadgetKid! She's excited about it and will hopefully put it to good use.

Then onto to our 'pink' afternoon tea ... Oh yes (proceeds from the tea are donated towards breast cancer research! We arrived a little later than we hoped to which meant we waited about an hour but it was well worth it. Lovely scrumptious treats which we devoured as we hadn't had anything since breakfast. Eileen and I had 'bothered' to dress up compared to some of the tourists!!! and here she is looking very elegant. If you have a moment, you can check out her blip here. Fabulous day which left me nicely tired.

May I encourage you to pls click here to give someone a free mammogram. Thank you!
