Time Traveling

I think I have seen both sides of the doctor's dilemma now, and I'm still not sure what to think. I got to the doctor's office for an 11 o'clock appointment, and was told that my appointment was for 10:50 and they would have to me reschedule me to Friday. I do appreciate the fact that the doctor is trying to keep to a schedule, but I usually spend 10 minutes perched on the end of an examination table before the doctor actually appears, so two days seems an execssive time for me to have to wait. I guess I should count myself lucky that I'm not really sick!

There is a spot on the trail that Ozzie and I take most mornings that always makes me feel that I have been there before…not just yesterday and the day before, but perhaps in another lifetime…. a sort of deja vu. It is not a very noteworthy spot--a slightly winding trail and a few little oak trees that look as if they had been planted with some design in mind. There are a few other places where I get this feeling…a bend in the road in the little Central Valley town of Escalon (on the way to Yosemite) also comes to mind. It is not a strong or an earthshaking feeling, but it is persistent and dependable, leaving me wondering….

The Balinese, being Hindu, have a strong belief in reincarnation; that family members who die will be reborn into that family in a future generation. The Balinese family I spent time with in 1985 pointed to their grandson, an impish boy of 6 or 7, who I swear, having just met me, pinched the bottom as he followed me down a path through the family rice paddy. The family home has a very large and quite pornographic painting prominently displayed, which was done by the boy's grandfather! Not much doubt in my mind that this boy could be the grandfather reincarnated!

Perhaps I should look further into my own family history…..
