Daphne

So, kids, if you think being grounded is bad, consider the plight of Daphne. She was turned into a Laurel tree by her father in order to quell the ardour of Apollo. Given the tree theme, you won't be surprised to learn that this sculpture is situated in Batsford Aboretum in the Cotswolds. You might therefore have expected a more Autumnal looking scene than this. I'd did get some nice reds and russets but not good enough to trump the local scene that I still want to catch.
