out for the night

My eldest child is off on a Halloween party/sleepover - as part of a group of 12 - 15 friends from school. First time that there is both boys and girls and first time that I know alcohol will be part of the evening's festivities. They are 16 years old and it had to happen as it did with me at exactly the same age.

I know that she will be fine, she is sensible and grounded, I just know my kid but still my stomach turns as I wave her good bye and wish her well - saying "enjoy yourself"...
