Sir Nigel Gresley...

…In a different light in the National Railway Museum’s lighting extravaganza, ‘Locos in a Different Light’, part of the Illuminating York Festival. ‘Locos in a Different Light’ will run at the Museum until 2nd November. The illuminated locomotives are the ‘big four’ – Mallard, Bittern, Union of South Africa and Sir Nigel Gresley, which are all appearing at the National Railway Museum as part of the ‘Great Gathering’, supported by Hornby, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Mallard becoming the fastest steam locomotive of all time. The Gathering unites Mallard and its surviving sister locomotives in York one last time. These are Bittern, Union of South Africa, Sir Nigel Gresley, Dominion of Canada and Dwight D. Eisenhower.
