'n Kiekie 'n Dag

Langenhoven

My mom's complete work of CJ Langenhoven. Also one of her first buys as a young working girl. Langenhoven played a leading role in having Afrikaans recognised as a language in South Africa rather than Dutch. He also wrote Die Stem (The Voice), the South African national anthem before 1994, the first verse of which forms part of the new SA anthem.

The paintings were bought by C's dad in the 1940's from someone who needed money. They are not signed, but the scenes looked English, rather than South African. Maybe there's a blipper out there that recognise the scenes or the painter.

The teddies were made by Mom and me, mostly Mom.

Tomorrow we have to cut down the tree. Depending on the weather.

Waiting for C to come home so we can pizza & wine!
