Poppy

Appropriately named for the first day of November, I met Poppy and her companion when I changed on to the Fishguard train at Cardiff. They were on their way back to Ireland.
Chihuahuas must surely be the humming birds of the canine world, retaining the essence of dog in a minuscule form. She's stronger than she looks said her owner, despite adding, as she fondled Poppy's matchstick legs, that you had to be careful not to crush them.
The puppies are no bigger than mice and are usually born by Caesarian section. Poppy is two and a half and cost £400 which is apparently the bottom end of the price range.
I didn't really know what to think.

My fourth in the series Dogs and their People
