The Gadget Show Live

I spend so much time with Tom rowing that every so often I try to balance things up by going off somewhere with my other son. We had planned to have a museum/shopping trip to London, but then I saw that the Gadget Show would be on this weekend, so surprised him with tickets.

We had a fabulous time from the start. Even on the bus down I was mesmerised by a woman describing what I thought was the plot of Snakes on Plane, to her friend, but which tried out to be a real story about someone taking their pet snake on a plane this week.

Then all the lovely people at The Gadget Show who demonstrated a waterproof phone by dropping it in a tank of water whilst we watched the crystal clear video being played on it; the fabulous German electric bikes that we road tested through a fake Christmas woodland - pedal a bit and then turn on the boost and whoosh, you're off. We played Robot Wars, Josh got to try the new Xbox One, was given free T-shirts and gaming stuff that is "really really cool' and then we watched a Gadget Show itself with the usual presenters, lots of audience participation and freebies thrown and shot into the audience. At the end one lucky audience member won all the gadgets they had demonstrated.

On the way home the West Indian underground announcer began with a heavily accented 'Yeah Man! and proceeded to slip at least five reggae song titles into his advice for travellers much to everyone's delight. Yes, people actually smiled at each other on a tube train. Wow.

:-)
