Life in Sunny Dubai

National Park*

Looks like it's autumn here too!!

Today, after AGES, we visited Mushrif Park - Dubai's first ever park, opened around 1975 (or '76) and it was located along Airport Road going in the opposite direction to the City! It is a huge park in the desert and has kept to its environs. Lots of desert trees/shrubs and is the only park you can drive around in. In the 70s, it had a train(!) and the school that SweetArt & I attended took us swimming there once or twice! [The school was down the road from it. Still is.]

It also has a very cute International Village - miniature houses which Jellyfox has blipped. I used to love them. Still do. It was great walking around seeing all the changes/improvements that have been made and happily, the mini-village survives!

I've loved having the extra day off resulting in a shorter work-week! Not done all the catching up I wanted - but tomorrow is another day. . . It was nice too to call in on a friend and have a cup of tea and Diwali sweets!

*The original name for the Park.
