Had a pleasant evening at the Voodoo Rooms wherein Iain Banks was reading from his new book and having a wee Q&A. Having last seen him back in 1998 at the book festival, I'd forgotten just how much he likes to talk, although it was still enjoyable. After waiting one hour and forty minutes to get my book signed by Douglas Coupland at the book festival last week, I decided against repeating the experience, and made a quick exit afterwards (well, as quick an exit as could be made with a numb arse caused by an hour-and-a-half's worth of sitting on some horrendously uncomfortable chairs).
