Singers Hill Synagogue visited today. And pride of place of course is for the scrolls of The Torah - incredible rolls of calf hide which take a scribe 18 months to create at a cost of around £20,000. And if they make a mistake they lift the ink off the page with a sharp knife. And if God"s name is misspelt then the whole page has to start again. One mistake and the scroll becomes an idol. And that page has to be buried in the ground. How holy is God's name. We have much to learn from the sons of Abraham.
