Happy Happy Ding Dong

Day one of the conference.

Travelled up to the conference in the morning and was very pleased that the ICE was only 20 minutes late. That's pretty good for the ICE.

The conference this time was in Dortmund and the part of town where we were staying is used for large trade fairs. It was functional but not pretty.

The speakers on the first afternoon were quite interesting. If you were interested in the new COBOL Compiler. I think the number of you who would be interested went from 0 to -0 (that's the difference between being interested for the sake of politeness and really not giving a shit anymore).

We went out for dinner together - thirty five of us - and I think there was no ironic wordplay in the fact that the name of the restaurant was "Wenkers".

Anyway, on the way home we passed a restaurant called Happy Happy Ding Dong. After 5 beers it was quite possibly the funniest thing I'd heard of all day. Even funnier than Wenkers.

Got back to the Hotel, realised I had no Blip and thought "Who do you think comes up with these ways to display stuff in hotel bathrooms?"

It should be noted that the next day, they realised that I was alone and so one of the face-cloths was taken away.
