Pool season ended!

But a long time ago, simply hadn't got around to getting it "winter fit" before. The job was a backup last week in case we ran out of things to do with the grandchildren as I would have got out the firehose and organised a large forest fire training session. Luckily we had enough to do

So with the mercury over 15°C and heading for 20°C went to work. As I came in just before dark realised I hadn't Bliped all day so grabbed the camera and took this emergency shot from the unfinished site. Have pumped out some water, got the PH and Chlorine levels right. Friday will then do the final cleaning of filters and then sink the level to about 50% and add the bottle of winter protection (whatever it is). Then the big clearing away of pumps, filters, pipes etc.

An outdoor pool is wonderful when it's really hot but difficult to justify for all the maintenance work and cost. A large greenhouse type cover would be great but very expensive and perhaps not the nicest thing to have directly in front of the house.
