We were given a tour of the town by the architect overseeing much of the development of the town. He has restored the cathedral and there are some huge projects going on such as the Cultural Centre, a vast building next to the cathedral which will contain a huge concert hall, a library and a host of other venues and facilities.

It's extraordinary, that even with matched funding from the EU a town like Telsiai with a population of 30,000 can support such a huge project. But Art and culture appear to be very important to the town; that evening extra seats were put in the aisles to squeeze more people in to see our performance
