Primaries

After breakfast and an unsuccessful attempt to find any TV worth watching, I left Carl's place and set out on a bit of a blip expedition. After Dalkey and Bullock Harbour (where the blip comes from) I went on to Colliemore Harbour, then back to Glasthule and on to Blackrock, stopping there for a spot of up-market food shopping.

A lazy afternoon, then a pretty good programme on BBC 4 about the Requiem as a musical form, with reference to Cherubini and Mozart and Schumann (!) and Berlioz and Verdi and Fauré and others. Benjamin Britten's magnificent War Requiem got its share of attention also, of course, which is only proper considering the centenary of his birth is coming up (22nd November).

To round off a pleasant day I watched The Cleaner on TV, which I enjoyed more than the reviewers over at IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.

I've done some back-blipping: Criss-cross, Cut glass, In session.
