HOW high???

Took off to the In-laws'/Outlaws' today. S.I.L.'s Birthday shortly present to deliver and I tend to "Shoot" through the windscreen en route "just in case".

This time we were halfway between the Buttermere fells and home.

There's a group of lumps, in the Lake District, called "The four threes" (God knows what they call them now we're supposedly Metricated) Four heaps over 3,000' high. I used to know the highest was 3,210 feet high. What's that in "Funny money"?
But hey...
A) They're ours.
B) They're a teeny bit older than the Rockies.

Anyway, the thought which occurred along "Route 66" (The A66 across country [No "Kicks"]) was this...

I infest one or two internet groups with international membership, one of which has a member who recently said that where they lived there was no postal delivery, gas or mains water, at a height of 4,000'.
I reckon that'll be just about the bottom of the central clouds.
