Rejuvenation

My photography has been feeling stale and forced.

Methodology to resolve:

1) Pick a camera/lens that is really fast to autofocus and easy to use. This may or may not be the "best" kit, just the best for "quick and dirty".

2) Fix your focal length if you're not using a prime. Zoom just adds choice, choice detracts from spontenaity

3) Set the camera to auto or program. No faffing with settings. Settings detract from spontenaity

4) Pick a short walk - in my case the 5 minutes from the bus to the office.

5) SHOOT. It doesn't matter what. Anything. Make sure you take some from the hip or overhead where you can't see what you're taking. Don't go more than 10 paces without taking a photo.

Some/many of the shots will be junk. Live with it.

My result? 80 frames shot in 5 minutes. 50 complete junk. 30 perfectly respectable and blippable. 10 blippable with some degree of pride. Spoilt for choice for a bli for the first time in weeks. Blip bank re-stocked with ideas.

Of course, maybe you'll look at this and think it wasn't blippable. Fair comment. But it's better than some of what I've done recently.

Mind you, with the airshow tomorrow and diving on Sunday I probably won't need to make any withdrawals from the blip bank for a day or two.
