From the Shark Tower

I took the Hs to Redhead beach this evening to run off some energy. The shark tower which I often blip is in what they call the Main beach part of Redhead beach and about where you can see a strip of water crossing the beach is the start of where you can walk dogs. After they had done their thing including in rolling in more dead Shearwaters, I came back to Main beach to try some long exposures and this is from the tower.

What I found out was that there hadn't been a terrible storm out to sea killing the shearwaters but they are on their long migration from Russia. 10,000 kilometres worth of migration and the deaths are due to exhaustion. We call them Muttonbirds here. Apparently they are good eating.
