Cable cardigan pattern from 1950

This is the lovely cable cardigan pattern that I found in the Modern Woman featured yesterday. As you can see it is a fitted garment knitted with 3 ply yarn on 11 and 13 needles. Strangely the pattern is given in one size only 34 inch bust, not much use for me! However I am determined to knit this, it will take some exploration to find a suitable yarn and up size the pattern.
The magazine also has articles on fashion, needlework, beauty, happy families, home making and of course fiction. In fact everything a modern woman's requires.
