Gight Woods

One of the last remnants of ancient woodland in Aberdeenshire, on the banks of the River Ythan. A particularly good area to see bluebells and red squirrels.

We didn't see either today, but the woods were looking wonderful. Some of the magnificent beech trees are holding on to there beautiful golden coppery leaves.
The dog enjoyed a splash in the river.

Home to soup and bread.

Perfect day out.
