The going down of the sun

Though the night is long,
And our eyes veiled by darkness,
The sun shines elsewhere.

Today we took my Dad's ashes to be buried with my Mums. A simple rite with a few words spoken. An end. Not easy for me, but something I am glad I was able to do.

While a prayer was being said, Mark saw a bird hovering nearby which disappeared as the prayer finished.

Dad is with me in so many ways and yet I still miss him.

We stopped on the top of the Ashdown Forest on the way home and watched the sun set. It seemed fitting somehow. The sun never really goes down it is just out of view, in another place.
