Steamy!

Woke up just before 6am (this is unheard of back home - although it could have something to do with the fact I fell asleep about 9pm again last night!) Packed up, checked out and started the long drive to Rotorua. Stopped a couple of times on the way - once for coffee (so good in this country!) and again for lunch (pies - also so good here!)

Arrived in Rotorua mid-afternoon, and checked into a motel. Drove over to Kuirau Park and got our first taste of all the geothermal bizarreness in this part of the country. Steam coming out of the ground all over the place, and bubbling pools of mud. Fantastic!

Went to the Rotorua night market for dinner, then chilled out in our room for the rest of the evening, drinking vodka and watching crap telly.
