Brough of Birsay

The forecast was rough but I wrapped up and headed up to Birsay. From the hide at The Loons I saw two hen harriers, about 2000 golden plover etc. I headed along the road to Marwick and up the cliff path over Marwick Head. Bright sun was broken by interesting clouds and I could see showers heading in from the sea. It wasn't rain but hailstones which mainly bounced off. Along the shore of Birsay Bay were a couple of snow buntings, which seemed appropriate.
