At How Caple: Sunset from the wood yard...

A long day.

Its amazing how all this talk of cold winter weather stirs up log sales. I am sure its the same for oil suppliers too. I heard that their work has doubled also. The weather has notably changed. The sunrise demandingly cold yet rewardingly beautiful. The air crisper. The sky filled with huey tones. The tones change little throughout the day. Long deep shadows thrown by the winter sun. The winter sun always goes down early. From 2pm the scene changes again. Tones grow warm with the setting sun, becoming redder with as it drops from the sky. The ground and trees covered in a magenta cast of light.

The old oak at the yard stands unchanged against its ever changing backdrop. Ive photographed her before. See HERE in winter. I love this tree. She stands waiting while we all rush about. She must think us humans are strange x
