Clearing The Table

Australian Brush Turkeys are - as this pic shows - large birds (approx 60–75 cm long (23–30 in) with a wingspan of about 85 cm (33 in). They are shy birds though quick to grab the chance of a free meal and soon learn that an outdoor cafe on the edge of a nature reserve is a great place to dine out.

This one had been circling the table near ours at Mary Cairncross Park, Maleny for a few minutes. Then as soon as these two ladies got up to go, it grabbed its chance. It went for the healthy option of salad.
