Sunset

8.8C and mostly dull with rain from late morning until mid afternoon then clearing. Light breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound's spontaneous running and jumping in the back garden yesterday seems to have had a negative reaction with her back problem. I think it was the jump over the heather bed that did it. She must have jumped 4 feet in height to clear the small wall and the heather plants and from takeoff to landing easily 12 feet in distance.

She was quiet in the evening but was up several times through the night. Once to ask out and the other times mostly just to stand and look a bit lost. Such a shame when we thought she was back to her old self over the weekend.

This morning I gave her the usual dose of anti inflammatory and was happy to see her lie down on her side and sleep most of the morning. Getting up at lunchtime caused her to cry but this afternoon she has settled and the crying has not reappeared. We shared a large omelette for lunch. I have made sure she has rested all day with only one short walk when she needed to go out just about 4pm.

We walked up to the church and while we were out I managed to grab a few shots of the colours in the clouds looking North over the Angus countryside. To the West there was much more orange and red in the clouds.

Fingers crossed that Maeve has a better night and that the recovery can get back on track.
