Edinburgh Christmas Fun

Managed to persuade my husband to accompany me on a bus trip to Edinburgh to see the Christmas lights etc and inspired by the intrepid Lady Findhorn, I even got him to come on the Star Flyer with me:-) This takes you 60 metres up in the air in an open seat and then birls you round at a fair speed for a few minutes, giving you fabulous views across the city, but limited opportunity to blip the experience as everything is blurred! It also plays havoc with any hairstyle you may have arranged neatly before the trip!

We wandered round the market stalls in St Andrews Square and in Princes Street Gardens, but managed to resist their wares; popped in to The Dome in George Street just to gawp at their fabulous decorations; strolled up the Mound to the Castle Esplanade to take more pictures and then headed for the National Museum of Scotland to pass the time until it got dark.

Then it was back down to Princes Street to take lots of night time shots of the Ferris Wheel, the Star Flyer, the market stalls, the kids' mini railway, the floodlit Castle etc etc etc. Many of them have hit the cutting room floor, but there are enough to remind us of a lovely day in the capital. Even the weather was kind to us, being dry and mild all day:-) We should sleep well tonight!
