The boy and the butterfly

Sam was off school today, feeling under the weather, but he still helped me shift some of our winter fuel logs. We were amazed to find this beautiful butterfly among the logs we had chucked into the back of the car, as we unloaded it. How it clung on as we piled in the wood, I'll never know. We were sure we could hear the butterfly's wings creaking back into shape, then Sam very gently got it onto his fingers before we let it fly away. I hope this little act of kindness brings us good karma...
