Still there

I was walking up to the garden to pick the remaining ripe olives today, and saw this shadow on a blind. Chaiselongue/Teleri is still in my head of course, especially at olive picking time, and her shadows are still here in the village. She would have been delighted that I had seven kilos of olives to take to the mill, so I should get a litre of oil!

These are just some of the ways of remembering, set off the other day when a good friend came into the kitchen and exclaimed: 'I can still see her sitting there!' And I've been editing our bilingual journal,in which there's a paragraph of remembrance. An absence which is such a presence.
