Lebkuchen

This is the real thing, delicious. Brought over from Nürnberg in Germany. It is a traditional Christmas treat, a type of gingerbread.

Glasgow has been twinned with this city since 1985, I enjoyed a visit there about three years ago. Good to have a friend over for a few days.

It's been a bit of a day. Last weekend our boiler packed in. Tonight, a weird creaking noise, to find the long radiator in our Dining Room was coming away from the wall. We had to lean against it, until we could get some props in place. Now trying to decide what to do. The house is 110 years old, and it looks like the plasterwork behind the radiator had failed. A busy weekend ahead too. Whatever next.

And the latest news from Glasgow. A helicopter has crashed into the Clutha Vaults pub at the Briggait, right beside the River Clyde on Stockwell Street. The chat is it's the Police helicopter. The pub was packed, with a band playing. There doesn't seem to have been an explosion. Reports of many injured.
