Our Observations...

When it was too cold to go outside this morning (-17ºC /0r 1ºF) Gracie Twinkle -toes stayed inside and took herself up to her perch near the ceiling to observe us and nap until conditions improved.
Later on we walked outside to fill the bird feeders and look at the rabbit tracks criss-crossing the yard. We found a few small mouse tracks, too. And thankfully, NO deer have walked through nibbling on the way (yet).
I spotted some rather large cat tracks out by the pile of branches and sticks that shelter little beasties in winter. Upon taking a closer look I was able to count the number of toes on these large footprints. Six toes on each foot... oh, that's Gracie's 'twinkling toes'. I hadn't noticed that her feet have grown so large. They are too big to fold up under her chest as other cats can do, but she's a rather rare polydactyl and now easy to track in the snow. She has carved quite a straight track for herself out from the house to this shelter!
