The Edge of the Wold

Side lighting

Being slow on the uptake, it took me a while to realise that the best light is not necessarily as the Sun crests the horizon, but in the next 10-15 minutes when it is still low over the land. This is the time when I am usually scurrying down the hill to get to work, but today was a Sunday (hooray!). The sun rose today into a narrow gap between land and cloud, and then as it disappeared above, the landscape below was lit by shafts of golden light. This is the view towards Bowland from Arnside Knott, the wind farm is one of the earlier ones in this area.

That was the best part of the morning (boo!). The rest was spent in A&E in Lancaster. I won't bore anyone reading this with the details, but suffice it to say it was a false alarm. It was one of those things that needed to be checked out, and if it had been more sinister, would not have been wise to leave until Monday. Still, it's a bit of a mystery, and yet another one of those unfortunate aspects of disintegration from the ageing process.

Thank you for the stars, hearts and comments on yesterday's sunset, I will get round and say thank you individually, but it may take some time. Anyway, I'm here to blip another day.
