Cabbage white welcomes summer

Thank you for all of your recent comments lately on my various blips. They are greatly appreciated.

I thought it was about time I blipped a macro, and being late in the day, I was very lucky to find this interesting cabbage white, near the edge of our back lawn.

The Cabbage White is a small- to medium-sized butterfly species of the Yellows-and-Whites family Pieridae. Scientific name: Pieris rapae

It is also known as the Small Cabbage White and in New Zealand, simply as White Butterfly.

Bigger eye.

Today is officially our second day of summer and what better way to welcome it than to get up close to a Cabbage White.
