Heart of Stone or Rock of Love?

So the lightbox saga continues. Photographed this rock with a WB of white flourescent. Crisp white background. Photographed another rock with the same WB settings and I got a dingy background color. So strange.

Anywho, I going to go make cupcakes and then search for the perfect buttercream icing recipe. I have tried a few recipes that contain an insane amount of powdered sugar (confectioners sugar) and I think they taste too much like the powdered sugar. I want to get a recipe that tastes just like the buttercream frosting you get on top of grocery store cakes. Extrordinarly sweet, but yet a more complex taste profile than powered sugar turned into cream.
