Next year's crop

There seemed to be no birds or insects in the garden today. We had just agreed that almost everything in the garden looked decidedly dead, then we noticed that the ornamental fig is in bud and chives are still seeding. The chive seeds won today's toss of a coin. Hopefully we'll have a good crop next year.
