The Bruce!

We've been walking in my American visitors ancestors footsteps today! Pedens and Johnstones! Ayrshire & Dumfries & Galloway

It turned out to be a beautiful blue sky day, a wee bit chilly!
When we were walking to Lochmaben Castle around the loch, we came across this carving nearby.....King Robert the Bruce this was his castle, it's also one of the castles associated with the spider story, although it's often Turnberry Castle that history books state where this happened! We will never really know!

The day was rounded off with a lovely cuppa & cake in a cafe in Thornhill! :)
