Milkweed

These are milkweed pods, but I thought they looked almost like birds. I previously showed milkweed that was bursting out of its pod (here).

I spent some time this afternoon shopping for gifts - my church sponsors a needy family each year and we choose tags listing things the parents or the children would like for Christmas. Mr M and I don't have children and my youngest nephew is 14, so it is fun for me to shop for a youngster. Then we spent the evening putting up our Christmas tree. It looks lovely (if I do say so myself) and now the house feels festive.
