Pampas Grasses

I have always loved pampas grasses and have often seen them when passing other people's front gardens and thought I would love one of those. One of our neighbours here in Dunbar has a lovely large plant. Therefore I was delighted when my wife suggested we buy one to put in the very corner of our garden. We've had this one about three years so it is not very large yet but I just love the way it catches the low slanting winter sun.

It seems strange that they 'flower' during the winter months but I guess that is something to do with surviving the long hot summer months of the South American plains.

Definitely worth looking at LARGE to look at the structure of those lovely feathery plumes.
