The River Echaig in full flow this morning after a stormy night that left branches strewn on roads and paths and a tree in the river itself. I didn't get to see the latter storm damage - we had to visit Benmore Galleries today to check on arrangements for a performance on Saturday, and by the time we arrived the road round to the gallery had been cordoned off to let work be done on retrieving it.

The Botanical Gardens were also shut to the public as an army of men worked to saw up and remove damaged branches, so walking round wasn't an option either. In the end, we were led by an obliging tractor over a small (and usually private) track which gave our car its first shot at showing how a 4x4 copes with such things.

It copes brilliantly ...
