Never want another day like this!

What a day!

Mid morning: Phone call - Flood Warning for 19.00 onwards - Tidal surge ..... spent quite a while taking some important & personal items upstairs ...... just in case!

Late morning: gale force winds .... so strong it nearly blew me off my feet ...... had to cancel haircut!

Mid afternoon: Phone call - SEVERE Flood Warning ...... with possible evacuation ........ spent the next hour or so taking more things upstairs!

Tried to persuade Mum to come to us ..... just in case (she lives in a bungalow) .... but no way was that going to happen! Made sure she had all she needed & told her to ring if she needed anything at all.

Watching BBC News 24 for any information ........ at around 19.00 the Flood Defences were breached & the centre of Boston was flooded!

Waited anxiously to see how far the water would reach.

Eventually heard that the flood waters were receding ....... PHEW ...... what a relief!

We were SO LUCKY ........ the flooding didn't reach us! Mum was lucky too thankfully :-)

The same couldn't be said for a large part in the centre of town ....... so terrible for them & all others who have been affected. My thoughts go out to them.
