The Lanterns of the Foothills

Just points of light in

In the Foothills of Yuma, our beautiful Mexican brick fences are crowned with lanterns. We have no street lights in our Foothills neighbourhoods. These lanterns have to do the job. As one gets to know the neighbours one gradually understands how these lanterns are used by each resident. Sometimes the lanterns are only on in the evening before the resident goes to bed. Some residents use timers so the lanterns go out as regular as clockwork. In some cases, the lanterns only go on for special occasions.
