Spindle

This is a Spindle Tree, formally known as the European spindle (Euonymus europaeus).

I spotted this a week ago on my route to the hide at Kinghorn Loch and have taken pictures of it on each visit 'just in case'.

Well, the 'just in case' event happened today. The rail didn't show up, and the bluetits and robin kept moving too fast for my enforced slow shutter speed.

I am a little late tonight (as most Mondays) because it is the night that the Photographic society meets. I didn't do so well in the print competition tonight so will have to pull out all the stops after Christmas.
