Middle Earth, Ponta Delgada

The view from the rim of the caldera, the collapsed volcano cone, at sete cidades, the Azores. Morning at the rim was glorious, with early morning light clearing the wisps of mist and picking up the ripples in the earths surface with deep greens - a real Middle Earth!
