Pelorus River & The Hobbit movie

Left home at 5.50am to get out to see the chap that does our WOF for the car. But I was early, so had just over 1/2 hour to fill in. Decided to drive up to Pelorus River Bridge, as it is a magical place. Is was in this area that Peter Jackson, shot some of the scenes for the Movie "The Hobbit".
This is also the bridge that PJ, in his wild youth had jumped off. He now says that if any of the grand children say they are thinking about it, he would tell them they are nuts. There is not a very wide gap between the rocks.
Got the WOF (Warrant of Fitness, which we have to get for our cars every 6 months in NZ)
After getting the WOF, I then drove into Blenheim, after stopping in Havelock to have a look at the Museum there. Only to find it was closed due to renovations. But I did get to talk to a couple of people involved in the project, and this is good as I am interested in the history of the area.
Went out to lunch with my son's girlfriend, then we dashed around doing some Christmas shopping and other bits.
Then it was the Marlborough Camera Club December meeting down at Riverside Park for some evening/ night photography and then dessert etc at the Cafe on the riverbank.
